HEARD is an impact enterprise, serving up riveting stories that advance the change we’d like to see in the world.

Audio Documentary

The medium is podcasting, but the format is audio documentary: long-form storytelling that takes you deep inside the lives of everyday people facing extraordinary challenges.

Impact

We are long-term champions of better outcomes for people whose opportunities have been compromised by breakdowns in social justice. We believe storytelling is pure alchemy to compel people to care, act, and connect. Our efforts at HEARD dovetail with the work of our community nonprofits, ManifestWorks, Words Uncaged, and SMP Rise.

The Market

Via our entertainment representatives and business partners, we are poised to develop opportunities to downstream our intellectual property as premium documentary, film, and episodic television.

What People Are Saying

“I’ve known Chip for years, he’s done amazing work in the social justice space with their organizations and he’s a great storytellers. Anything he does has my full-throated endorsement.”

— Scott Budnick, Anti-Recidivism Coalition Founder, CEO One Community Films

“I've worked with Chip on Human Rights Watch campaigns since 2011, and we’ve interviewed dozens of people with personal experience of the justice system, including crime survivors and people in prison and out. I can count on him to approach each person with sensitivity and openness; I know he will help a person feel comfortable and heard. He’s a tireless and dedicated partner in our work together, and he is extremely generous with his time and passing on skills to others. He also has great instincts as a storyteller and there are very few people I’ve worked with who can weave the small stories into the big picture the way Chip does.”

— Elizabeth Calvin, Human Rights Watch

"Chip and I started ManifestWorks together back in 2013, and since then, I've come to know his dedication to the cause and to the community we serve. We remain close allies, and I know I can count on his efforts to bring people together, solve problems as they arise, and always be ready with some new vision for the future. I have no doubt this endeavor will be successful and will have a lasting impact."

— Dan Seaver, ManifestWorks CoFounder, Executive Director
